Causal Integrative Method

“ Nothing binds you except your thoughts;
nothing limits you except your fear;
and nothing controls you except your beliefs. “

Marianne Williamson

This Method

Is based on body feedback as an objective tool to both detect blockages at different levels and effectively release them. Body feedback is achieved through muscle testing, derived from kinesiology.

Le Dr George Joseph Goodheart, an American chiropractor, observed that the internal processes of the body and the nervous system are reflected in our muscle tone. This fundamental discovery dates back to the 1960s.

The « Integrative Causal Method » is a personal synthesis by its creator, Valérie Clertan www.valerieclertan.com, who has been professionally practicing kinesiology and family systems for over 20 years.

The rebalancing techniques of the ICM are borrowed from various practices, such as:

      • Family Constellations, NLP, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), eye movement technique**, acupressure
      • Floral essences, minerals, essential oils, crystals…

** Derived from numerous research conducted in the United States, this is a technique of desensitization and reprocessing of traumas through rapid eye movement (naturally occurring during REM sleep). It is also known by the acronym EMDR « Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ». With the help of this technique, a person can be freed from their blockages and suffering. Indications include: any trauma, anxiety, aggression, grief, fears, and emotional breakup…

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing involves placing a muscle (e.g., the arm) in a contracted position and applying slight pressure to the immobilized limb. When we are under stress, the flow of our energy is disrupted, leading to a weakening of muscle tone, resulting in lowering the arm. If the muscle maintains its tone, it indicates an absence of stress for the person. In practical terms, this biofeedback tool operates as an « open/closed » mechanism that provides « stress/non-stress » responses.

Muscle testing can provide information about the presence of stress related to:

      • A difficulty, a problem, an imbalance, a situation
      • A sensation, an emotion, a feeling, an obsession
      • A food (e.g., wheat, dairy products), dietary supplements (e.g., magnesium)

This method can also be used « in transfer », for example, in the case of a young child or an animal. More specifically, another person is tested by « connecting » to the person or animal receiving the session.

What is the scope of this method?

The scope of this method is psychosomatics. The aim is to access what lies behind the symptom, what triggers it and feeds it. The goal is to clearly detect and resolve emotional and unconscious blockages, sometimes even of transgenerational or karmic origin. These blockages are invisible and deep-seated, but they contribute to maintaining disturbed psychological and/or physical states, recurring or chronic symptoms, and sometimes resistance to all treatments.

In other words, this method involves an evaluation through body’s biofeedback, which allows detection and resolution of deep personal emotional, unconscious, cellular, transgenerational, or karmic blockages. Subsequently, the context of the blockage is brought into consciousness in order to liberate the person from non-nurturing « things » (burdensome, heavy, oppressive, suffocating, etc.).

Session Process

A session is individual and accessible to everyone (all ages and lives, including animals).

The first session lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, while subsequent sessions last 1 to 1.5 hours, and they unfold in two stages:

  1. Verbal interview: To determine the person’s needs and evaluate their situation from one session to another.
  2. Working sequence to:
      • Interrogate the body about the origins of blockages and unconscious causes (personal, familial, or even karmic unconscious).
      • Become aware of the links between these memories and your current concrete situation, dissociating the present context from past experiences.
      • Perform appropriate balancing techniques to release your own mental, emotional, and energetic resources, thereby creating a state of well-being conducive to the desired change.

Essential oils, floral essences, minerals, and crystals are often used as supports during session or to integrate the work done during the session.

The topics discussed and the information provided during the sessions do not replace a diagnosis, medical advice, or treatment.

At the end of the session, the body is asked about the integration time for the work that has just been done. In the case of balancing techniques that address deep levels, it may take several weeks before any further intervention is considered. The consulting person is then completely free to decide whether or not to schedule another appointment. The success of the therapy comes from both the techniques used and the synergy between the individual and the therapist.
